We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. This policy explains how Strōq, operated by Atropical AS, handles your information.

What We Collect

We collect minimal information:

Contact Information: If you contact us via email, we collect your name and email address
Analytics Data: If you consent to analytics, we collect anonymous usage data through Pirsch Analytics (see below)
Local Data: Your workout data is stored locally in your browser using IndexedDB and is never transmitted to our servers

How We Use Information

Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services for analytics and website functionality. These services are required to protect your information and use it only for the services they provide.

Pirsch Analytics

For web analytics (only with your consent), we use Pirsch Analytics. Pirsch Analytics is a cookie-free web analytics software that was developed according to the Privacy by Design principle.

To analyse visitor flows, Pirsch Analytics uses a hashing algorithm to generate a 16-digit number as the visitor ID when the page request is received. The input values are the IP address, the user agent, the date and a salt.

The visitor's IP address is not persisted in whole or in part, and is anonymised completely and non-reversibly by the hash. The inclusion of the date and the use of one salt per website ensures that website visitors cannot be recognised for more than 24 hours and cannot be tracked across multiple websites. A rough localisation (country/city) is performed via a locally integrated database.

Analytics data uses 24-hour identifiers that reset daily and are not linked to individuals.

Cloudflare Turnstile

We use Cloudflare Turnstile to prevent spam and abuse. This service is necessary for website security. For more information, see the Cloudflare privacy policy.

Local Data Storage

Strōq stores your workout data locally in your browser using IndexedDB. This data includes:

Workout metrics (distance, time, power, heart rate, etc.)
Force curve data
Workout timestamps and summaries

Important: This data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to our servers. We have no access to your workout data. If you clear your browser data, this information will be permanently deleted. We recommend exporting important workouts using the FIT file export feature.

Bluetooth Connectivity

Strōq uses the Web Bluetooth API to connect to compatible rowing devices. Bluetooth connections are established directly between your browser and your device. No data from these connections is transmitted to our servers or third parties.

Your Rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Right of access: You can request copies of your personal data
Right to rectification: You can request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
Right to erasure: You can request deletion of your personal data
Right to restrict processing: You can request limitation of how we process your data
Right to data portability: You can request transfer of your data to another service

Right to withdraw consent: You can withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent

Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy:

Contact Information: Retained only as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry
Analytics Data: 24-hour identifiers that reset daily (Pirsch Analytics)
Local Workout Data: Stored indefinitely in your browser until you delete it

We will delete your personal data when it is no longer needed or when you request deletion, subject to any legal obligations to retain certain information.
